My Holiday Experience When Going to South Korea With My Family

Can you imagine the first time you traveled to another country with difference of language, culture, people, food and what you only have are a few words of English that you still need to learn? This starts when my parents planned a vacation to South Korea with me, my brother and sister. A month before departure, my parents made us a visa and passport because of international regulations so we could visit other country. On January 6, 2017 we went to Soekarno Hatta Airport by taxi on Friday morning when it was still dark. After about 6 hours of flight we were greeted by our guide who will always take us during our trip in in South Korea. On the first day of our trip we visited Petite France in Gyeonggi Province, is a French-style theme park that was constructed, unfortunately the snow doesn't cover this area, not long here we just take a few photos and go visit other location.

Still on the same day we visited Nami Island, it took quite a long time to come here and needed a boat to visit the location, but before that we had lunch with smoked beef and did you know why they always use chopsticks made of iron rather than wood chopsticks? And again, at Nami Island we hadn't had time to see snow. Took long enough to tour the island. Because it was getting dark, we returned to the car and were escorted by the guide to The Class 300 hotel and we were watching Korean films offered by the guide.

Ice or Snow?

On the second day we visited Seoraksan National Park, there was a lot of snow scattered there. We ride the gondola with other people to go up the hill. Finally, we could see the amazing view with snow-covered hills. And yes, snow, I can feel and hold it with my own hands.

Skiing
And the next trip we will try skiing at Phoenix Pyeongchang and of course we need to rent some equipment to play with it. I taught myself how to ski as I know in the video on YouTube. It so heavy and hard for me at the first time. We having a good time in there. In the evening we visited Everland Korea Theme Park, just like Dufan but this playground was so huge and unfortunately many games were closed and the night on there was very cold because of the winter. I don’t remember what kind of games that I have played on there. Back to hotel!

Street vendors
On the third morning we visited the Kimchi manufacturing plant and the ginseng history site. unfortunately, in these places we are not allowed to use the camera. But fortunately, we were taught how to make Kimchi and there we also bought Korean special seaweed food. During the day we went to a place where many street vendors and there we also collected Korean Starbucks Cup. In the afternoon we visited Gyeongbok Palace, in this place we also saw the history of Korea. I was very so impressed because more than century ago this country was arguably poorer than Indonesia but until now, they could make their country as developed country. Amazing! In the evening we visited downtown Seoul, this city was amazing, we also visited a shopping center whose servants were from Indonesia.

On the fourth day we visited the trick eye museum and we also went to a place where we could wear typical Korean clothes. Actually, in this day I don’t too much remember where we going to and what we are going to do.

N Seoul Tower
And on the last day or the fifth day we checkout from the hotel and then we visit N Seoul Tower, at the top of the tower we can see the whole city of Seoul and up here also very crowded with other visitors. We were driven back to Incheon International Airport by our guide and thanking for guiding us for these five days. Because it is not a direct flight to Jakarta, we will transfer through Ngurah Rai International Airport and we just arrived home at midnight.

What I just want to say is Korea is truly an amazing country, even the public toilets are generally very clean, our guides once said that their country is the second cleanest toilet after the Swiss country and Seoul City is the best in terms of design and also very neat.
